La Esperanza Group's story

This communal bank is called "La Esperanza" (The Hope). It is an older group in its sixth lending cycle. The communal bank members maintain that getting ahead is a motivating factor as is being able to progress on their own strength with the solidarity and help of their communal bank companions.

One of the communal bank members is señora Asuncion. She is an enterprising person with a great desire to improve her situation and get ahead. She makes sacrifices for the benefit of her family and looks for ways to give them what they need to live a dignified life.

Señora Asuncion earns her living in sales. She has a small grocery, and her dream is to grow and expand her business. She is requesting this loan to purchase bakery times, vegetables, fruit, meat, canned goods and other products.
