01_Lelo Group's story

This Banc Villageois, which has existed since January, 2000, gathers these eight brave women who are in the same village. They are united by good social and professional relationships. They have repaid many loans by their due date and have sales as their main business.

Madame Ndéye, 58 years old, is the representative on the right of the photo and raising a hand. She is married and the mother of seven children of whom three are girls. They are all in school. Madame Ndéye manages a grocery business - dried fish, nététou [a traditional West African condiment], palm oil. She makes her purchases in the daily market and resells at the village market. She can rely on twenty years of experience in this business sector.

With this loan she is going to buy some baskets of dried fish, some cans of palm oil, some pails of peanut butter and various grocery products. She will be able to sell these products despite the competition.

The profits allow her to add to her savings and to pay for the schooling of her children.
