Munhtsetseg, 37 years old, lives with her child, mother and sibling in a ger, the Mongolian nomadic tent, in Govi-Altay Province, Mongolia. Munhtsetseg operates a clothing and consumer goods trading business in her town, selling a variety of men's and women's clothes as well as consumer goods at a local market called Shine-Altai. She started her business in 2000, at a rental counter with working capital of 250,000 tugrugs (~ 185 USD); today, however, as a result of a great deal of hard work and determination and help from her sibling, her working capital exceeds 2,500,000 tugrugs (~ 1830 USD). Munhtsetseg purchases the products and with her sibling sells them through two sales channels at the local market.
Munhtsetseg, an experienced trader who has many plans for the future, says, "I would like to expand my business and purchase my own shipping container for my business." She is now requesting a 2,300,000 tugrug (~ 1685 USD) loan to purchase a large amount of inventory including clothing and consumer goods because demand for her products is increasing.
