Beatrice's Group's story

Beatrice, who as a group leader is representing her group of nine farmers in Kakamega B (North) District, Kenya, is a mother to five children. She is known by her community as a very trustworthy person.

Beatrice joined One Acre Fund in 2012 because she wanted to earn enough to feed her family. Since she joined the program she says that her life has improved, especially because she has been able to consistently feed her family. With the profits from the coming harvest season, Beatrice plans to invest in a business.

Between the nine farmers in Beatrice 's Group, 2.75 acres of land will be planted using the maize seed and fertilizer received through this loan. Additionally, the group will purchase four solar lights.
