Total loan: $525

Alice's Group

Teso, Busia County, Kenya / Agriculture

Alice's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to gain access to cost-efficient hybrid seeds and fertilizer for maize cultivation.

Alice's Group's story

This season is not the first one that Alice is working alongside One Acre Fund. She has been a member for a few years now, having joined the program in 2019 and, although she is the only person featured in the above picture, she is actually representing her group of 11 farmers in Teso District, Kenya.

Alice is often described by her community as a very reliable person and decided to be the one to represent her group because she wanted to be more active in her community. Like many of her fellow farmers, Alice decided she wanted to be part of the One Acre Fund community to have access to quality training and acquire new farming methods and hopes to use the profits from this year’s harvest to invest in a business.

This loan will not only help Alice but the whole group, who will receive maize seeds and fertilizer to plant a total of 5.75 acres of land. The group will also receive one solar light.
