Rose's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to purchase high-quality farm inputs (hybrid seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizers), to produce a good harvest that will support her children.

Rose's story

Rose (a repeat Kiva borrower) is a 27-year-old mother of two children, living in Kenyenya. She is a force to reckon with when it comes to farming. Being a resourceful mother who lives in a poor country, she believes that quitting is for losers. She lives in a town where the main economic activities include agricultural processing, particularly in horticulture and tea. Rose perseveres because she wants to give her family a solid reputation.

Unlike banks and other local money lenders who operate mainly in urban centres, Juhudi Kilimo (a Kiva field partner) has extended its operations to the most remote areas of Kenya, creating opportunities for different people to access loans.

Using the loan to buy farm inputs and purchase high-quality seeds and good fertilizer will improve her crop production. Modern farming requires the use of modern techniques, and using high-quality seeds will assure her of a bumper harvest and increased profit levels.

Rose is visionary, and her goal for the season is to boost her crop production from the previous year and also build a modern house for her family. All of these can be achieved with the lenders’ help and goodwill. Kindly click that lend button!
