Carren's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to expand her business by purchasing more seeds and manure for her vegetable garden.

Carren's story

Carren is a 24-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her uncle in Chienge district in Zambia. She grows vegetables in her own garden and sells them at the market. Carren is requesting a Kiva loan to expand her business. She plans to use the profit she earns to grow her business, help her family and help vulnerable people in her village.

Carren will repay the ‘social interest’ on her loan by volunteering three hours per week as a CAMFED Business Mentor. She will lead sessions to teach less experienced local women how to become successful entrepreneurs by developing their business acumen and she will share the lessons she learned from operating her business.
