Purity's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy a motorbike to transport her produce from the farm to the market so as to minimize spoilage, thus increasing her income.

Purity's story

Purity is a mother of four children living in Nkubu, a remote area located on a gentle plain before the ascent into the central highlands of Kenya. Every single day, she hopes for a brighter future.

Purity's upbringing was challenging, and she never went to college, so she could not secure a formal job. However, she did not surrender to that, and she has been practicing farming for the past 10 years. Through farming, Purity has been able to take care of her young family. Her main sources of income have been milk, eggs, and crop farming, and through these ventures she has been able to support her family as the breadwinner. She is very experienced in poultry farming.

The Nkubu area is rural, and roads are very poor. For Purity, transporting goods has always been a “nightmare". She has been suffering losses, because goods reach the market when they are not fresh, hence they have to be sold at a lower price. Vegetables and milk are very perishable, and require timely delivery to the market.

Through purchasing a motorbike with this loan, Purity will be able to fulfill her dream.
Purity plans to employ someone to help her with the farm work, and to transport the produce to the market, hence providing a positive social impact by creating employment. Increased profits from the loan will allow Purity to repay the loan fully. She will also be able to permanently change her living standards, and provide her children with a secure future.
