Josia's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer to improve harvests of maize.

Josia's Group's story

Pictured above is Josia, often described as an extremely trustworthy person. He is 62 years old and has six children. As a group leader, he is representing his group of 12 farmers in Mumias District, Kenya.

He is returning this season to work with One Acre Fund again as this means that he is able to get the best quality fertilizer and hybrid seeds, which is why he decided to join in the first place. Josia says that he is happy to have made that decision because since he first joined in 2017 he has been able to save more money, which has improved his day-to-day life significantly. He will use the profits from this season to invest in a business.

The group will use this loan to purchase seeds and fertilizer to plant a total of nine acres. Given that some members of the group will also be purchasing a solar light, with this loan the group will receive a total of two solar lights.
