Selina's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farming inputs such as hybrid seeds and fertilizer to improve her farm's output and help her, as a mom who is the voice of hope for her children, support her family.

Selina's story

Meet Selina, a 33-year-old mother of two school going children who is very hardworking and determined to succeed. She is a farmer and a very determined woman whose two joys are her family and farm. Selina lives in Maua, an area endowed with natural streams and green vegetation.

Selina requested a loan from Juhudi Kilimo after realizing that it has extended its operations to the most remote areas of Kenya, creating opportunities for different people to access loans. She will use this loan to purchase farming inputs such as high-nutrient fertilizers and certified seeds, which will improve her farm's yield and earn more profits from sales to support her family.

For a woman like Selina, accessing funds in Kenya, especially around Maua area where she lives, is very challenging. Selina feels relieved knowing there are institutions that help enterprising women like herself.

Selina is hopeful that with this Kiva loan, 2020 will be a successful year for her and her family.
