Gladys's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy farming inputs such as certified seeds and high-nutrient fertilizers to improve her output, make more sales revenue, and raise the living standards of her family.

Gladys's story

Gladys is a 30-year-old farmer from a remote village in Kenya. She is a skilled farmer with many years of experience under her belt. Gladys is married to a fellow farmer. Her family's main source of income is milk from their dairy farm. However, they are also involved in other agricultural activities and growing different crops.

Access to modern quality farm inputs is the pillar of agricultural revolution. However, in Kenya, a developing country, fertilizer and seed allocation by the government is way below the needs of farmers. Since Juhudi Kilimo, which is in partnership with Kiva, ventured into the affairs of smallholder farmers in Kenya, farmers can attest that there has been a significant improvement on inputs availability than earlier before.

Gladys is seeking a loan to buy farming supplies such as certified seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizers. Your loan will enable her to use quality supplies to improve her farm's production. This boost will help her meet the increasing demand for food in the market, and it will also generate more income so she may repay her loan and improve her family's quality of life. She also hopes to improve her house's condition.

Juhudi Kilimo partnered with Kiva to provide financial services to smallholders around Kenya. Through these financial services, farmers like Gladys from Bungoma can now buy important supplies to use on their farms. Please help this mother accomplish all her dreams by funding her loan!
