A loan helped to buy vegetables to sell.

01_Keur Madiop Group's story

This group, composed of 11 women, is part of a banc villageois in existence since November 2018. They live in the same village, are all parents and maintain good relationships. They are on their third loan and have always repaid on time. Their principle activities are farming and business.

Mame Fatou is age 42; she is the representative on the right in the photo with her hand raised. She is a married woman and mother of seven children (of which three are boys) who are all in school.

Mame Fatou has a small business selling vegetables, she restocks at the weekly market and resells in her village, from her home. She has good experience in this field, around seven years.

She will buy cabbage, carrots, turnips, eggplants (sweet and bitter), manioc and peppers. She has created for herself a loyal, reliable customer base by offering good quality vegetables.

Her profits will allow her to cover the needs of her children, to participate in the group's common funds and to save in the banc villageois.
