Faraj's Group

Mumias, Kakamega County, Kenya / Agriculture

Faraj's Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for the cultivation of maize, as well as a solar light.

Faraj's Group's story

Faraj (pictured) has been a farmer for 10 years. He is now proud to represent his group of 12 farmers in Mumias District, Kenya. He is 30 years old, married and has 3 children.

Faraj likes to think of himself as a very hardworking individual. He has been working alongside One Acre Fund since 2019 and decided to represent his group because he wanted to spread the story of One Acre Fund farmers. He says that being part of the One Acre Fund community has meant that he has had more profits from each harvest. Faraj plans to use the profits from this coming season to buy a cow.

In total, Faraj’s Group will receive inputs to cultivate 6.25 acres of land. Given that some members of the group will also be purchasing a solar light, with this loan, the group will also receive a total of 1 solar light.
