Maria Catalina's story

Maria is married and has two children; a 15-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy. Covering the household expenses is Maria's responsibility, since her husband has health problems and cannot work. She doesn't receive any economic assistance from abroad.

The business Maria has run for five years consists of making chicken tamales to sell; at the moment, she runs the business without help from anyone else.

She works fours days a week from 3:00 am to 6:00 pm. The winter season is a difficult time for her business.

She is seeking a loan to be able to buy ingredients like vegetables, broiler chickens, condiments, etc. to make tamales with. The investment will help her keep her business stable and increase her earnings.

Her aspirations are to increase the sale of tamales and have better economic conditions, so she will be able to cover the needs of her household.
