06_Diamagueune Louga Sargal Sa Jeker Group's story

This group is made up of two women who share strong links of solidarity and mutual support. They live in the same neighborhood and they seized the opportunity to join the Banc Villageois when it was established in the village in May 2010. Their main business is retail.

Mrs. Aida, age 43, is the group's featured borrower. In the photograph, she's standing on the right with her hand raised. She's married and the mother of three children, including one girl. She retails peanut paste, honey, palm oil and dried fish. She has experience in this business since she's been running it for several years.

She foresees using this loan to buy peanut paste, honey, palm oil and dried fish in the weekly fairs. She will resell them at the central market. The profits will enable her to sustain her business, strengthen her savings and take care of her children.
