Barranquilla, Atlantico, Colombia / Food

Gustavo Adolfo's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to purchase a heat-resistant display cabinet, an electric juicer, and ingredients for the fried food he sells.

Gustavo Adolfo's story

Gustavo Adolfo is an enterprising businessman. He is single and lives in the municipality of Barranquilla. His main business is selling oven-cooked food, fried food and juices throughout the day. This activity takes places north of the town, in an area dominated by institutions and health organizations. He has run his business for more than five years in close proximity to a recognized clinic and works there from early morning to the end of the day.

Gustavo Adolfo moved from another municipality where he used to live with his parents, a rural area where he worked on the land. More than 23 years ago he moved with his parents to the province of Atlantico where they worked at simple jobs. For twelve years he was helping his father with the sale of maize dough, and as time passed he moved into sales of fried food for employees' and neighbours' breakfasts as well as fast food at weekends.

He is now seeking his first loan with Kiva through the Mario Santo Domingo Foundation and plans to invest the funds in the purchase of a heat-resistant display cabinet, an electric juicer, and ingredients for the fried food.

Please help him with this loan. It will be a success!
