Alice's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support
A loan helped to gain access to cost-efficient hybrid seeds and fertilizer for crop cultivation for this woman with a good credit history.
Alice, age 38 mom of 5, was born and raised in a very remote area in the Bungoma area of Kenya. Being brought up in a poor family, she was unable to attend college because her parents could not afford her education. Later, she started farming on a small plot that she acquired. On the farm, she has dairy cows and a small garden. The results of her determination are the smiling faces of her children when they wake up early every day to go to school. Through experience based on curiosity and her natural abilities, Alice has emerged as one of the most respected farmers in her village. Although she makes a profit from farming, Alice is not comfortable and has always wanted to increase her income by buying seedlings so that she can plant them and sell the crops after harvesting. Alice’s area has a high demand for crops. This means that she could increase her profits and satisfy the demand for crops products. Alice feels relieved because Juhudi Kilimo is partnering with the wonderful Kiva lenders to help hardworking and honest women farmers like her turn their farming dreams into reality through training and loan financing.
