Masiline's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to buy fertilizers and expand her crop farming.
The Kenyenya area of Kenya, which is in the Nyanza area of Kenya, is home to many smallholder farmers. The greatest challenge that they face is lack of access to a reliable source of finance. Masiline(21 years) is a mom of one child and she is one of these residents. She started farming a few years ago on a small plot she acquired. On the farm, she has dairy cows, crop farming, and a small garden. Filled with determination to better her family's conditions while not being deterred by her age and financial status, Masiline has decided to expand her existing farm. Masiline is kindly seeking a loan to buy fertilizers and expand her crop farming. Because of the favorable weather and road conditions, she will have an easy time transporting her crop products to the market. Loans are hard to come by in Kenya for small farmers with little, irregular income and no solid collateral. A few organizations, such as Juhudi Kilimo, support farmers like Masiline.
