Awa's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase 15 lengths of 'pagne' cloth (Real) and some quality clothing and to save money for her children's schooling.

Awa's story

Awa is the mother of three children, who are attending school. A merchant, she has been selling 'pagnes' [the colorful cloth of western Africa] and clothing for nine year at an outlying market of the capital.

Now on her 7th loan cycle with the microfinance institution YIKRI, she pays back her loans on time. She has asked for another loan to purchase quality clothing to satisfy the demands of customers and retailers for the year-end holidays. With her earning, she is going to reinvest in her business, bolster her inventory, and save money to cover her children’s school costs.
