Fatuma's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to stock her food stall with more tomatoes and onions.

Fatuma's story

Fatuma is a single mother of two, and a business woman dealing in the sale of fresh food stuffs, especially tomatoes and onions. She purchases directly from local farmers from the different areas surrounding Jinja town and sells to the hotels, restaurant owners, and small scale buyers like people who want to make meals at their homes. She started this business over 20 years ago after losing her husband to a sudden death. Being a sole family breadwinner, Fatuma works hard to see her children attend school and also live happily. In a bid to do that, she works the whole week from early morning to late evening every day. Her challenge is inadequate capital to invest in the business, so she approached UGAFODE for a loan of 1,500,000 Uganda shillings (UGX) to buy more tomatoes to increase her stock. She hopes, with time, to be able to construct her own stall, since of late she is renting a market stall in a competitive market. Fatuma is so humbled for the great support rendered to her.
