Lydia's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for the cultivation of maize.

Lydia's Group's story

Lydia, pictured above, has been a farmer for more than 20 years, and is now proud to represent her group of 8 farmers in Matete District. She is 45 years old, married and has 4 children. Lydia likes to think of herself as a very experienced farmer. She has been working alongside One Acre Fund since 2015 and decided to represent her group because she wanted to help more farmers. She says that being part of the One Acre Fund community has meant that she has been able to consistently feed her family. Lydia plans to use the profits from this coming season to send her children to school. In total, Lydia’s Group will receive inputs to cultivate 5.25 acres of land.
