01_Diamaguene Group's story

This group of fourteen women is part of the Banc Villageois established in the area in August 2008. They live in the same neighbourhood and are united by values of solidarity, respect and sharing. They have benefited from several loans that they have successfully repaid. Their main business is trade.

Ms. Thioro, 41, is the representative, standing to the left in the photo and with her hand raised. She is married and the mother of a boy who is in school.

Mrs. Thioro is active in the small vegetable and dried fish business, she buys at the central market and sells in front of her house where she has a table. She capitalizes on over 10 years of good experience. With her loan she will buy 2 bags of carrots, 1 bag of cabbage, turnips, peppers, cassava, baskets of dried fish and other vegetables that she will resell with a good profit margin. Profits are used to strengthen her savings and grow her business.
