A loan helped to buy fresh fish and resell it.

01_Tmamek Group's story

This banc villageois was created in August of 2008 and includes 14 hard-working women who live in the same neighborhood and share strong neighborhly bonds of friendship and solidarity. They have already paid back several loans on time. Their main activity is trade.

Mame Khathie is the group’s 45-year old representative and is shown on the right of the photo with her hand raised. She is married and the mother of four boys, two of whom go to school.

She sells fresh fish on the wharf of her town. She has 3 years of experience. She plans on using the loan to buy crates of fish that she hopes to resell with good profits. Her business thrives when there is fish.

She will use the profits to strengthen her savings with the banc villageois and to pay for her sons’ schooling.
