Irma's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a car to start a family taxi business serving tourists.

Irma's story

Irma and her husband are from village Kursebi, Tkibuli district. Irma runs her own agribusiness, sells cheese, chickens and pigs and generates her own income. Irma's husband is a private artisan and driver as well.

This hard-working couple started to seek credit for their family business start-up. Her loan request was approved in the framework of a joint initiative of Kiva and Credo. The start-up loan program envisages provision of business start-up and re-startup credits with soft conditions to rural poor, who do not have access to credit products being regarded as “high risk borrowers” because of low income. With the received credit, Irma plans to purchase a car to serve as a taxi, that will serve tourists and generate additional business income.

The new business initiative, financed with the Kiva startup loan, will significantly increase the family's income and the family members will be able to improve their living conditions.
