A loan helped to buy retail shop stock.

Agwec Apoko Vsla Group Opuk's story

Forty-one-year-old Alex is married with five children, four of whom attend school in Aber Uganda. Together with his wife, they grow maize and simsim [sesame] and also attend to a retail shop for additional income.

In this festive season, in order to increase their income, Alex requested a loan of 600,000 UGX from VisionFund Uganda to add stock in his retail shop to catch up with the season and grab some extra income. With this, he will have a variety of items thus being able to attract various customers and increasing his daily incomes. He will then be able to save for his children's education and also purchase Christmas clothes and bearings for his children.

Hardworking Alex is challenged by drought that affects the growth of his maize and simsim. He is thankful to Kiva for the financial support.
