Maria Del Carmen's story

Maria del Carmen is 38 years old and in a common-law relationship, from which she has 2 children, ages 2 and 5. Her husband is a craftsman and they live in the Montecristi canton, a place known for its Panama hats.

She is a woman who likes to make her own earnings and with it help her spouse to get ahead. She works making tagua buttons. She has a lathe to cut tagua with which she makes the buttons with a raw finish. Then she delivers the product in Manta to wholesalers that ship the product abroad for the finishing touches.

For her, the loans have been of great importance since they allow her to finance her work and continue with her activity. This loan will be used to buy tagua. She is a founder and she likes to have the support of the group. Her dream is to continue improving her production.
