Mary's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy farming inputs such as seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizers to expand her horticultural farm and make more profits for her family.

Mary's story

Mary lives in Kenya, a developing country where white-collar jobs are mainly for highly educated and skilled individuals. However, this was not an excuse for Mary not to fight poverty. Through gathered knowledge in farming, she has been able to lift the reputation of her family. This level of success has been fueled by, among other things, her commitment, desire to achieve and readiness to take risks.

Mary practices dairy and crop farming, and through these ventures, she has been able to send her children to school. She is a committed and devoted farmer who depends entirely on farming. Mary has used part of her savings in agriculture to send her lovely children to school. Mary is seeking a loan of 60,000 KES, which she will use to buy certified seeds and high-nutrient fertilizers to expand her horticulture farm. By scaling up her business, she will reduce relative production costs and increase output. Mary's strategy is to use the returns from the investment to pay for more farm inputs, a lack of which is a major problem that leads to the closing of many farms due to poor quantity and quality of yields. She will, therefore, be able to increase her profits. This will elevate her standard of living as well as that of her beautiful children.
