Lydia's story

Lydia is 31 years old and has three children who mean the whole world to her. She is a dairy and tea farmer living in Nyamira, a town where the main economic activities include agricultural processing, particularly in horticulture and tea. Lydia dreams that through farming she will be able to pull away from poverty and see to it that her family has a good life. She is a visionary and keen to ensure that she keeps progressing.

Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, has extended its services to the remote areas in the Nyamira region of Kenya. Its staff members are keen to ensure that hardworking women like Lydia benefit from loans that enable them to purchase assets and farming inputs. Lydia is seeking a loan to buy farm inputs such as nutrient-rich fertilizers to improve her tea farm.
