Total loan: $100

Bukedea, Eastern Region, Uganda / Personal Use

Safina's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase the ACE 1 energy system in order to have access to solar power for lighting, charging and cooking in a way that is safer, cleaner and saves money.

Safina's story

Safina is a 29 year old woman who lives in a bricked house with two other family members including one child. Safina works as a customer relations officer but struggles with the cost of cooking fuels. She spends the most amount of her energy expenses on charcoal, which costs up to UGX 60,000 per month. She also spends as much as 30 minutes per day, gathering fuel and fulfilling other energy needs like phone charging. Safina bought the ACE 1 cook-stove to help her and her family save the money spent every month on fuel and also help them access solar electricity for charging their mobile devices any time for free. The ACE 1 clean cook-stove is biomass and solar-powered. For more information on the ACE 1 cook-stove please visit www.africancleanenergy.com and Facebook @African Clean Energy.
