A loan helped to buy animals to sell.

Benkadi Group's story

Aly, the member holding the ram in the photo, is a client of the microfinance institution RMCR. He is 36 years old, Malien, and married, with 3 wives and 15 children. Aly and his family live in a rural area. His children are between the ages of 5 months and 13 years, and some are in school. Aly's wives are homemakers and help their husband to cultivate the fields.

Aly has been raising sheep and oxen for 15 years. He buys and sells the animals at the weekly markets in his area. Raising livestock is profitable for him, and it allows him to pay for his children's care and tuition. From the sales, Aly can make 50,000 francs or more every 8 months. He often faces sickness and death in his herd, but he still does well.

Aly's dream is to buy more oxen and increase his revenue in order to reach his goals: buying a piece of residential land in a city and achieving financial autonomy.
