Yamah's story

Meet 41-year-old Yamah from Liberia. She is a married with four children. All of her children are working while attending school.

Yamah runs a business where she sells rice, onions, red oil, vegetable oil, Vita, Benny seasoning, black pepper, washing soap, bath soap and other items.

She has dealt in this business for the past 15 years now, and works 15 hours per day, six days a week. For the time being, she has had no problem with her business.

Yamah requested this loan from Brac Liberia, a Kiva field partner, to purchase more rice, onions, red oil, vegetable oil, Vita, Benny seasoning, black pepper, washing soap, bath soap and other items to sell.

She says that the income from this loan will help improve their standard of living.

In the future, she wants to become an international businesswoman and continue sending her child to school.

She says thanks and gives appreciation to Brac and the Kiva community for their support.
