Jane's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy cereals, such as lentils and cow-peas, to sell for extra income to support her school-going children.

Jane's story

Meet Jane, a 43-year-old mother of five children. She is a smallholder farmer who is very proactive in her work. She takes all responsibility on her farm to heart and works towards her goals. She is determined to succeed and provide her family with a better lifestyle. She is determined to pull from poverty and live an improved life. Jane earns her income through selling milk, maize, and vegetables.

The problems with industrial changes and price trends for milk and eggs have necessitated that Jane look for other means of sustaining her household. She has often been forced to engage in personal businesses aimed at making profits for her family.

Jane has discovered that there exist very few cereal vendors in her local market. She has realized that, with her hard work and perseverance, she could buy quality cereals from neighboring farmers and sell them at her local market. She will also feed some of the cereals to her children.

Jane has applied for a loan from Kiva to top up her savings and start the new venture. Kindly consider her request.
