Joyce's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy farming inputs such as high-nutrient fertilizer to improve her tea output, to increase sales revenue, and raise the living standard of her family.

Joyce's story

Joyce (pictured with one of her child) is a 33-year-old farmer from a remote village in Kenya. She is a skilled farmer with many years of experience under her belt. Her family's main source of income is milk from their dairy farm. However, they are also involved in other agricultural activities and growing different crops and tea.

Access to modern-quality farm inputs is the pillar of agricultural revolution. However, in Kenya, a developing country, fertilizer and seed allocation by the government is way below the needs of farmers. Since Juhudi Kilimo, which is in partnership with Kiva, ventured into the affairs of smallholder farmers in Kenya, farmers can attest that there has been a significant improvement on inputs availability than earlier before. Joyce is seeking a loan to buy farming supplies such as rich nutrient-rich fertilizer to improve her tea farm. Your loan will enable her to use quality fertilizers to improve her tea farm's production. This boost will help her meet the increasing demand for tea in the market, and it will also generate more income, so she may repay her loan and improve her family's quality of life. She also hopes to improve the condition of her house.

Juhudi Kilimo partnered with Kiva to provide financial services to smallholders around Kenya. Through these financial services, farmers like Joyce from Litein, can now buy important supplies to use on their farms. Please help this farmer accomplish all her dreams by funding her loan!
