A loan helped to buy a motorbike to transport perishable produce to the market timely.

Mercy's story

Mercy is a first time kiva borrower who is very happy for this opportunity to share her profile with the kiva world. She is a dairy and crop farmer living in Bomet, a town that hosts a number of elite athletes in Kenya. Through farming, she has been able to provide nutritious food for her family. Although she has been making profits selling a variety of food crops, she is faced with a challenge of timely delivery of the produce to the market. This challenge has not made her give up. She is requesting a loan from Juhudi Kilimo via Kiva lenders to buy a motorbike.

Mercy is from a remote village that has poor feeder roads, and transporting her produce to the market has been a challenge. Hence she has suffered many losses. Perishable products such as milk, vegetable and tomatoes require timely delivery to the market if you are to fetch a high price, and through this loan Mercy is going to achieve her dream and goals. Mercy is a woman who is making a change for herself and for others in the community because she intends to employ someone who will be riding the motorbike and helping in farm work. With your loan, Mercy will improve her living conditions.
