Elizabeth's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs (fertilizers and seeds) to boost her yields and improve her sales, so that she can have enough money to educate her children.

Elizabeth's story

Elizabeth is a 41-year-old, repeat Kiva borrower, who has an impeccable credit history. She is a lively and energetic smallholder female farmer and mom of 2.

Born in a rural village in Kerugoya, Elizabeth grew up knowing farming as the only economic activity in her area. As a young girl, she was always eager to learn from her parents. This has had a positive impact on her life. Her spirit has led her to be a successful farmer practicing dairy farming and crop production.

The biggest problem that farmers from her village face is the huge deficit in terms of access to agricultural inputs. This means these farmers' yields and incomes are far below what they could be. Juhudi Kilimo has partnered with Kiva to provide financial services to smallholders around Kenya. Through these financial services, farmers from her village, like Elizabeth, can now buy productive assets and important agricultural inputs for use on their farms.

Elizabeth is seeking a loan to buy farm inputs, such as fertilizer and quality seeds. Your loan will enable her to improve her production through the use of quality farm inputs. This intervention will help her fulfill the increasing demand for food in the market, generate more income to repay the loan debt, and improve the quality of life for her family.
