Mujeres Virtuosas De Berlin Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped with the financing to buy wholesale corn, firewood, and a stove with comal.

Mujeres Virtuosas De Berlin Group's story

Small tortilla shops are very popular in Department / State of Suchitepéquez. An omelet is a food made with “nixtamalized” corn (cooked and ground), says Daly. She is 35 years old, a single mother and a member of the Communal Bank “Virtuosas De Berlin”. Daly runs her own tortilla shop in a small shop in her community. Daly's kindness and efficiency characterizes her before the clientele. Thanks to the business, Daly generates profit that allows her to provide formal education to her 12-year-old daughter. Due to its popularity, Daly's business has increased in recent months. So she is applying for the 1st Kiva loan to boost her business. With the financing she will buy wholesale corn, firewood, and a stove with comal.

For the 8 women of the Daly group, the training offered in the “Microcredit Plus” program of Puente de Amistad is of great interest for their development and growth. Women are trained in 4 main areas, business, women's affairs, family and health. All women are learning business management skills in budgeting, planning and saving. In the words of Daly “These issues are very important for the success of beauty salon businesses, daily consumer stores, tortilla stores, small restaurants and clothing sales.

"We hope to have the support of each KIVA lender, Without financing our business would not succeed," says Daly.
