Santiago Martin

Caldera, Pichincha, Ecuador / Agriculture

Santiago Martin's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy soil amendments and fertilizer for his sugarcane crop.

Santiago Martin's story

Santiago, 38, is a young man who lives in the community of Caldera in the province of Carchi. It's a town where most of the residents are Afro-descendants and work in agriculture.

Santiago lives with his wife; they got married a year ago. They don't have children yet but they want to be ready for when the family grows. This is why Santiago works in agriculture, especially growing sugarcane, to support his household.

Santiago needs to buy soil amendments and fertilizer to improve his production and, as a result, his income, because the price of sugarcane depends on the quality of the product.

Santiago is very grateful for your help.
