Betty's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy inputs, such as certified, quality fertilizer, to improve her tea farm.

Betty's story

Betty is 43 years old and a mother three living in Litein, a town whose surroundings have vast agricultural potential and numerous small farms as well as large agricultural enterprises.. Betty's golden smile can urge a toddler to take a first foot step.

Despite growing up in hardship and facing the blunt edge of life, Betty continued to dream of succeeding in life. Today, she is a mixed dairy and crop farmer who has worked for many years and gathered much experience. All the farming techniques are at her fingertips.

Betty is kindly seeking a loan that she will use to buy farm inputs, such as certified quality fertilizer, to improve her tea crop and eventually, through increased profits, to improve her standard of living. Unlike local money lenders who charge exorbitant interests on loans, Juhudi Kilimo and Kiva have entered into a partnership that aim at improving the lives of smallholder farmers through providing them with loans and encouraging them to save.
