Arthur's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer to improve harvests of maize.

Arthur's Group's story

Pictured above is Arthur, often described as an extremely friendly person. He is 66 years old and has eight children. As a group leader, he is representing his group of 13 farmers in Alego District, Kenya.

Arthur is returning this season to work with One Acre Fund again, as this means that he can earn enough to feed his family, which is why he decided to join in the first place. Arthur says that he is happy to have made that decision because, since he first joined in 2016, he has been able to consistently feed his family, which has improved his day-to-day life significantly. Arthur will use the profits from this season to buy a cow.

The group will use this loan to purchase seeds and fertilizer to plant a total of 11.25 acres. Given that some members of the group will also be purchasing a solar light, with this loan, the group will also receive a total of 1 solar light.
