Yelenis Juliet's story

Yelenis Juliet is a 21-year-old entrepreneur. She started her business of selling merchandise with the goal of generating her own income to support her household economically and improve their quality of life.

She lives in her parents' home. She has three years of experience selling merchandise such as clothes, shoes, and general accessories. Her main customers are friends, family members, people referred to her, neighbors from the area, and people from adjacent areas.

She has a very diverse product offering: ice, pens, photocopies, scanner service, basic medications, school supplies, and other items. She has gotten excellent profits and benefits from this business.

She wants to expand her portfolio of products, so she is applying for a Kiva loan. This is her first time she's sought funding through the Mario Santo Domingo foundation. She will invest the resources in the purchase of athletic shoes for women, men, and children; clothing; sweaters for men and boys; and jeans.

This micro-entrepreneur dreams of opening her own shop. She needs a capital investment to expand her product offering and respond to customer requests in a timely fashion. This will increase her profitability and improve her family's quality of life. Support her in this loan. It will be successful.
