A loan helped to buy chicks to raise.

01_Fogny Group's story

The banc villageois established in this area in April 2010 includes these five courageous women who live in the same neighborhood. They maintain strong relationships of solidarity as friends and neighbors. They have repaid several loans at maturity. Their main businesses are sales and animal farming.

Maguette, at right in the photo with her hand raised, is the representative. She is a 67-year-old widow and mother of eight children, including three girls; the oldest is 50 and the youngest is 32 and still a student.

Maguette raises chickens and also sells detergents (bar soap, bleach, liquid and powder soap). She buys her supplies in a large city and resells them in her neighborhood from her home. She has the advantage of more than 10 years of experience.

She is going to buy 150 chicks, 15 bags of chicken feed (for start-up, growth and finishing) and pay for vaccinations. She is also going to buy packages of bar soap, bleach and liquid soap for her sales business that she will resell at a profit. She is doing well because she offers her customers good chickens.

Maguette's profits will allow her to increase her savings, manage her family expenses and help her children.
