Sarah's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase tops, trousers and skirts for resale.

Sarah's Group's story

Sarah's group is comprised of 2 hard working women. Sarah is 17 years old and lives in the town of Kangulumira in the Njeru region of Uganda. For the past 2 years, Sarah has been working hard to manage her boutique, which sells all kinds of adult clothes.

To help expand her business, Sarah has requested a share of a loan of 1,400,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase tops, trousers and skirts for resale. This will help Sarah to generate greater profits and manage to pay some of the house bills and basic needs for the family. Sarah hopes that in the future she will be able to open up another wholesale boutique business that sells all adult and kids clothes in town.

Sarah is a member of BRAC's Empowerment and Livelihood for Adolescents (ELA) program. In addition to microfinance loans, the program provides both a safe place for young Ugandan women to take part in group activities, and a forum for life-skills training.
