Salome's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy farm supplies such as certified seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizers to improve the quality of her farm products.

Salome's story

Salome is a 42-year old mother of two children living in Kerugoya, a town surrounded by prime agricultural lands which favor large-scale grain farming, dairy and horticultural farming. She also grows maize for food and sales. Salome is an ever smiling woman who has farmed for ten years. Through farming, she has made tremendous things for her small family

In Kerugoya, Kenya, fertilizers and seed allocation by the government is far below the needs of farmers. Since Juhudi Kilimo, which is in partnership with Kiva, ventured into the affairs of smallholder farmers in Kenya, farmers can attest that there has been a significant improvement in input availability.

Salome is seeking a loan to buy farm supplies such as certified seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizers. Your loan will enable her to improve her production through the use of quality farm inputs. Through this intervention, she will be able to improve the quality of her farm products and attract more buyers, leading to more profits.
