Doreen's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to purchase farming inputs, such as fertilizer and hybrid seeds, and hire laborers to boost the quality of her produce, earn more profits and elevate her living standards.

Doreen's story

Get to know Doreen, who is a single mother of two children living in Bungoma, a town whose surroundings have vast agricultural potential with numerous small farms and also vast agricultural enterprises. Doreen takes her work on the farm seriously and ensures that she reaps the best out of every opportunity that comes her way. Farming is her main income source. On her farm, she practices dairy, poultry and vegetable farming. Doreen has been in this business for more than ten years and has never thought of going back. Through farming, she was able to open a shop in her village, filled with determination to better her family's conditions and not deterred by the difficulties she has encountered. Doreen has decided to expand her existing farm.

Doreen is seeking a 40,000 Kenyan shilling loan, which she will use to pay for farm inputs and to hire labor to grow more crops on the farm. It takes a lot for a smallholder farmer to risk limited resources to expand a farm business. With your help, Doreen will be able to settle the high cost of farm inputs necessary for expansion. A significant portion of the profit will be ploughed back into the business to fuel growth as she sets a good foundation for her children.
