Ida's story

Meet 45-year-old Ida from Liberia. She is married and has 5 children. All of her children are schooling and live at home. Ida's husband works as a driver to earn extra income.

She is a strong business woman who sells cooked food. She has been involved in this business for 10 years now and sells 6 days a week from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm. She started to sell with some financial help from her husband and her mother taught her this trade. She transports supplies to her business site by the use of vehicle.

She likes her business because it gives her more money each day she sells. To continue selling, she has asked for a loan through BRAC Liberia and Kiva Field Partner. With this loan Ida will buy more ingredients that will be used to prepare cooked food to sell to her good clients. In the future Ida wants to build her shop and continue her children's education. She is highly grateful for the financial support rendered.
