but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped the borrower to pay for a solar submersible pump.

Annie's story

Annie is a 68 year old smallholder farmer based in Lusaka province, the capital city of Zambia. She has been farming for over five years and grows maize, tomatoes and cabbages. Annie has had to rely solely on rain to irrigate her crops. She would like to grow her crops all year round but to do this, Annie needs an alternative irrigation system to enable her to irrigate her crops during the dry season. Annie is asking for a loan in order to obtain a solar submersible water pump to assist her to pump water from a borehole for irrigation. Rent-To-Own will deliver and install the pump at Annie's farm and train her on how to use and maintain it so that it may continue to work for her for a long time to come.
