Jose's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase a solar freezer which will enable him to increase earnings at his grocery store.

Jose's story

Jose is 52 years old and lives with his wife in a community in Yoro, Honduras. He works in agriculture. He has been growing basic grains and selling charcoal for twelve years. He would like to start a grocery business to generate more revenue.

Jose has been striving since he was very young to build assets so that his family would not be lacking anything and so they could have a good standard of living. However, there are some limitations given that in the community where they live, they have no access to electric power service. Therefore, many of his activities are difficult, especially those pertaining to his grocery store since they cannot offer their customers products requiring refrigeration, such as cold cuts, dairy products and soft drinks, unless he were to spend money to purchase ice in order to keep them fresh.

For these reasons, Jose has decided to apply for financing from Soluz Honduras for the purchase of an efficient solar freezer that will allow him to establish his business selling basic consumer products and allow him to offer a greater variety of products to generate more income.
