Mujeres Emprendedoras Rio Bla2 Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy onion seeds, as well as organic fertilizer and insecticide, to guarantee a quality harvest.

Mujeres Emprendedoras Rio Bla2 Group's story

The 7 women who have formed the Community Bank of Friendship Bridge "Women Entrepreneurs Rio Bla2" are purely Mayan and speak the Sacapulteco language. They live in the Department / state of Quiché. They are in their 1st loan cycle. One of them is Ana, who works on her own flower farm business. Ana is a 34-year-old woman who attended school for 6 years. She is married and the mother of 2 children (8, 11).

Ana's husband grows vegetables on his own plot. They are fortunate to have their own water to irrigate the planting. Thanks to the profits generated by the businesses, they provide better living conditions for their children and for their primary education. For additional income, Ana also makes beautiful blouses and traditional aprons. Ana wants to invest in a new product in agriculture. Ana will buy onion seeds, as well as organic fertilizer and insecticide, to guarantee a quality harvest.

These women are very excited that Kiva lenders will finance this loan. They want to invest in small pharmacies, selling traditional food and Mexican tacos, and agriculture. Ana and her classmates meet monthly to participate in educational sessions provided by a facilitator who uses role play and tells real-life stories to convey valuable information in 4 areas: business, women, family and health. This is part of the "Microcredit Plus" program (small loans, training, health).

Thank you Kiva lenders for being part of the development of these women!
