Cellyn's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy cereals grains (beans and maize) to sell in her village market.

Cellyn's story

Cellyn (46 years old) is a single mom of 5 who is known in her village for her bubbly nature and her jovial smile. She was born in one of the poorest families in Kitale, Kenya. She has worked hard to change her family’s fortunes. It is through farming that Cellyn is able to provide decent meals in her home for her cute and well-disciplined children.

She has been farming for the last few years and loves attending to various farming activities. Her clients enjoy the quality of milk and crops that she sells to them. The income she makes from selling milk and crops is used to provide for the basic needs of her family. Though she has gathered much experience in this business, she is not comfortable with the little she earns after having invested so much of her time and effort.

Cellyn has decided to request a loan which she will use to buy different varieties of cereals grains from local farmers and sell them to her customers and at the local market. Through this engagement, she will earn a commission that she intends to use to repay the loan and elevate her family's standard of living.

Thanks to Juhudi Kilimo and Kiva, the life of Cellyn and her ageing parents and children will be changed through this loan.
