Miriam's story

Doña Miriam is 49-years old. She is a single mother with two children and lives in a village near La Flecha, Santa Bárbara.

Miriam has had her own business raising and fattening pigs for the last eight years. She sells the meat from the pigs in her community, which is how she earns her income.

Miriam has participated in a number of lending cycles with ODEF. She is currently requesting a loan of 30,000.00 Lempiras (USD $1225), which she will invest in purchasing vitamins, feed and vaccinations so she can take care of her pigs. The purchase will help her to improve her income and have a greater number of pigs for sale.

Miriam's goals are to raise more pigs and to improve her standard of living.
